for him, and for god

By Demitris Charles

he scrambled his head

to unlock truths hidden

in the crevices of his brain

that can’t be touch

with human hands

“push deeper” he yelled

“the tighter the better

for Christ sake

hit my brain’s prostate

until I cum

and release emotions”

he wanted to feel like a child does

he wanted to feel open to relearning

and open to rewriting his habits

crawling on the floor like a baby

finding a wall to balance as he pulls himself up

learning to walk again

like an adult does

like we do

he took a walk outside

with his vision distorted

from the mushrooms

he inhaled hours ago

it was like breathing air

but it tasted like dirt

and earth

his feet moved to find something

but something could be anything

and anything was never enough

“I need more” he whispers to himself

“like if god were to get off his ass

and speak to me” he yells to open sky

…but god has spoken to him already

the god in us, which was

him talking to himself in mirror

yelling at himself in the mirror

and crying to himself in the mirror

his mind took stills of the reflections

like a camera taking photos

and he fell in love with his expressions

there in the mirror

 they grew a deep admiration

⁃                for him , and for god.
