“Dreams don't work unless you do.”
- End of the Year Review by Khoi Tran
What was the highlight of the year?
After many failed projects & stagnation because of Covid-19 and also myself, I finally got some achievements in 2021. I was promoted to be an expert editor and a content coordinator at my company, also I got my first dance video project "Breakthrough" finished and now it's ready to be sent to some film festivals for competition.
It was not just a project that brought the flame of passion back, but also a message I'd like to deliver to all the people who are getting stuck, changed, stagnated because of the pandemic, just keep moving forward and we will be free again because the human being is incredibly strong.
Somehow, 2020 & 2021 are two difficult years, but we survived, and now looking back, we grew a lot from that. And I believe we can, as humans, can do more than you can ever think of.

What was one thing you created that made you happy?
Besides Breakthrough, I also took some photographs & videos of Julie; she's my best friend and also a kinda unique one.
She has been in France for 1 year and has already been faced with many challenges; but she has fought hard. I am happy to make her smile; and in spite of all the odds, she always looks absolutely charming in the photos I take. I know she's strong, and not an ‘easy-to-give-up’ type of girl.
What are you looking forward to?
At the moment I am planning to create a team of filmmakers, starting with 3 or 4 people only for just some important positions (Director, DOP, screenwriter, producer). I want to aim at creating cinematic content, in particularly, films.
This group may only contain Vietnamese people (for the main positions), of course we will also collaborate with foreigners; because my vision is to bring films "made by Vietnamese people" to the world.
These contents/films will be uploaded to YouTube and also sent to some film competitions to challenge myself. I am excited for that plans, probably it's hard but it is definitely do-able, it will take some time and even some failures (and pain probably) but I am ready for it. Because in the end, we only regret what we didn't do.
Meet Khoi
A little Vietnamese guy living in the middle of Paris, chasing a big dream of becoming a great filmmaker one day, who can change the world. For me, telling stories through cinematography & visuals are some of the strongest tools to create change and revolution.
