Meet Porus

Porus Jain

My name is Porus Jain and I'm a social and humanitarian photographer. My work mostly revolves around social issues and the daily life of the common man. I tend to move away from the aspect of memory and try to put forward a visual of the present, in a way an exploration of the moment. I feel human emotions and expressions can give us a great insight into the struggles they face, the discrimination surrounding them, the issues of daily life and those are the moments I intend on capturing. Coming from a country like India, it has been my lifelong objective to bring about a change in the mindsets of individuals, groups or even on a larger scale in order to bring about even the slightest of changes in terms of the current social setting we live in. Always looking out for the next big story, I believe the visual holds a power so great that it can make or break an opinion or stereotype. I believe art has the power to move mountains and I hold the power to use that art to mend it and use it for a social gain, for the people, by the people, along with the people
