POP Artist Highlight

By Generation POP

Everyone meet my brother/best friend/co-dream chaser (no Meek), Troy Ewers.

Since the day I met this man, he has always been full of dreams. Although they were always covered in jokes & laughs, I could see the vision clearly and always knew he would be capable of accomplishing them.

For Troy, a San Jose, California native, his initial dreams stemmed from his love for music. His extensive knowledge of music history complements his love for all genres (fact check him, he knows everything).

Since we met in high school, Troy has always been different. His mentality has always been ahead of his time and never been one to fit in. He co-created a group called Hool Life, which is a movement that promoted the power of speech, branding, and self-individuality through business, music and clothing.

Continuing to be a visionary, this movement stemmed to the creation of his label Channel 88, where he also pursued his music engineering dream and ventured into artist management.

Our constant LA trips absorbing the views from Griffith Observatory, window shopping on Rodeo Drive and cruising through Bel Air fueled his motivation to go harder.

Now, the film industry is on Troy’s list of endeavors to tackle. He has always wrote music and scripts, so it was natural for him to want to write for a TV show or create his own.

Troy’s outspoken personality, film enthusiasm, and continuous music admiration has led him to the development of TopKat Films that harbors his podcast, The Trizzy E Baby Podcast.

Through TopKat Films, Troy has executive produced two mixtapes: Strawberry Kiwi the Soundtrack and Orange Cream, where he also features in under his alias - Lil’ Du.

You can currently catch Troy on his IGTV in Vinyl Biz with Trizzy E Baby, as he time travels through vinyl’s that are influential and prominent to the culture.

Troy has always had a huge impact on my life through his ideas and advice that I hold onto till this day. His support allowed me to better my craft as he was the first person I ever photographed.

His ideas also created my brand’s name, and his advice prevented me from getting bit by dogs (that night we went to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air house - even though I still ended up almost getting chased).

From Class Clown to Entertainment Entrepreneur, Troy has always remained himself keeping good spirits, energy and momentum surrounding him.

Troy, Generation POP thanks you for being YOU! It’s your tenacity, boldness, adventurism and positivity that makes you our POP Artist of the month.

We support you on your creative journey!
