Behind the scenes with Photographer Lorella Paleni
Behind the scenes from the cover editorial ‘Smoke Break’ shot by artist Lorella Paleni using Polaroid and souped 35mm film. Film soup is a technique that consists in submerging the film in some sort of liquid to mess with the emulsion.
In the case of the film, 25 the film was submerged in an herbal infusion that had been left molding, while the film 29 was mix of ingredients collected by the photographer at La Villette during the winter - which included a big mushroom.
Artist Highlight: Abe Ogulende
We featured Abe as the artist of the print because of his strong outlook on color theory.

On June 21, we hosted a gallery exhibit at 389 La Boutique in Paris’s 20th arrondissement featuring live music and performances by DJ Babygirl, Alxya, and Yerim.
